The Road to WrestleMania 37 continued on Friday night as Daniel Bryan kicked off SmackDown festivities and said that he successfully made Roman Reigns tap out at Fastlane, while hostilities continued to escalate between Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair. The night also saw Sami Zayn join long-time friend turned rival Kevin Owen on the KO show, among others.
With just two more episodes of SmackDown left until WrestleMania 37, here’s a look at this week’s action from SmackDown:
Bryan kicked off the show and reminded fans that Reigns tapped out at Fastlane (even though it didn’t count as a victory thanks to Edge) and sat down in the ring before demanding a title rematch. Adam Pearce came out to talk to him but couldn’t help Bryan get a rematch before WrestleMania. As the discussions went on, Edge came out and argued that Bryan did not deserve another shot. The two got into a quick fight but Edge had the last laugh as hit Bryan with the steel chair before leaving the ring.
Seth Rollins vs Shinsuke Nakamura
After hitting a stomp, Seth Rollins continued to control the fight till the break. Shinsuke Nakamura fought back and delivered a sliding German suplex for two. In the end, Rollins powered out of a chokehold and broke it by driving his opponent into the mat to pick-up a picked up a hard-fought victory.
Big E and The Street Profits vs Apollo Crews, Otis and Chad Gable
Otis and Dawkins kicked off the match allowing Ford to tag in early before he was hit with a huge power slam. Meanwhile, Apollo entered the ring but was hit with a leaping enzugiri from Ford before both men tagged out leading to a brawl. Crews caught Big E with the Olympic Slam before picking up the win.
Bianca Belair vs Natalya
Bianca Belair dominated from the start when Sasha Banks made an entry. Tamina dropped the distracted Belair with a kick and Natalya got the upper hand. After the break, Belair took control and hit a handspring moonsault for a near fall and followed it with a KOD for a win.
Rey Mysterio vs Dolph Ziggler
Ziggler had the upper hand from get go and sent Rey over the barricades before delivering a Superkick to Dominik. He then hit a Famouser for a near fall and Dominik attacked The Glorious One but was taken out. Rey took out Roode and with a slingshot splash hit, got the win on Ziggler.
Sami Zayn on The KO Show
Kevin Owens hosted Zayn on the KO Show, right after he begged Owens to be part of his documentary. Owens laid down the challenge and Zayn accepted it and the two attacked each other.
